We've been awarded outstanding business partnership
We've picked up the award for Outstanding Business Partnership at the Weston College Celebration of Success awards 2015.
We were one of only two employers to receive an award at the event, held at the Winter Gardens on Wednesday 21 January.
The award recognised our commitment to Weston College’s NGAGE programme, during our apprenticeship recruitment last year.
The NGAGE programme is a free course which helps young people to improve their skills and confidence. It also supports young people who want to apply for an apprenticeship and get into work.
As part of our apprentice recruitment, we mentored young people through the NGAGE programme, and provided tours of their office and work experience. This resulted in 114 applications to our apprenticeship programme, with seven successful candidates joining us in February 2014.
Jane Edmonds, our Assistant Director, said “The Weston College and Knightstone partnership through NGAGE has given many young people the chance to kick-start their careers and the confidence to go on and apply for jobs and work experience.
Our seven apprentices have been a real asset to the business and have all got bright futures ahead of them. Two have already secured employment elsewhere, two are now permanent members of staff with us, and the others have all secured further apprenticeships or study opportunities.”
We held an event for our apprentices on Thursday 29 January, to celebrate their achievements and contributions to the business over the past year.
